Terry Freer, passed away peacefully at home in Marcellus, Michigan, on March 14, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on December 3, 1952, in Vicksburg, Michigan, Terry was a man whose spirit, passions, and curiosity about the world would leave an indelible mark on all who knew him.
For a period of time, Terry worked for the Lawton Leader during a time when it was owned by his family, However a majority of Terry's career was spent as an Engineer working for companies such as Upjohn, Pharmacia, and Stryker. His love for storytelling was only rivaled by his numerous interests spanning music and technology.
A true original, Terry had an affinity for the music of The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Hendricks and a variety of other genres. Known for his love of art, cars, cats, photography, and electronics, he helped others see beauty from various angles—both literally and figuratively. An avid reader, Terry delved into books, comic books, and graphic novels with an insatiable curiosity, constantly seeking to expand his understanding of the world.
Terry is survived by his loving mother, Ann Freer, and his children: Rob, Daniel, Eoin, Serrianne, and Rae. He was also a devoted grandfather to Lucas and 3 granddaughters. Terry is further survived by his siblings: Randy, Blair, and Curtis. Additionally, he leaves behind many other family members and friends who he held dear. Terry is preceded by his father James Ralph Freer.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Terry's extraordinary life will take place on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Family First Funeral & Cremation Services in Marcellus, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. This gathering will be a time to share memories. Although Terry is no longer with us, his spirit will live on through the lives he touched.
