Pete Anthony DeAnda, born on March 17, 1967, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, left this world on March 4, 2025, in Portage, Michigan, surrounded by his beloved family. He is deeply mourned and fondly remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Pete had many exceptional qualities: he was kind, witty, loving, caring, and outgoing. His zest for life was contagious, and he earned a special place in the hearts of many. His passions encompassed a deep love for cooking, often delighting family and friends with his exceptional mole, chicken tacos, and ribs, along with his famous salsa that brought people together.

He was an avid sports fan, passionately supporting the Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Red Wings. Growing up, his enthusiasm also extended to the Miami Dolphins, showcasing his love for the game in all its forms.

He had a great passion for music that he loved to share with family and friends.

Pete spent many years in the service industry, where he made lifelong friendships. He spent the last 12–13 years at La Cantina in Paw Paw, Michigan.

Pete is survived by his daughters, Gabrielle DeAnda (Emilio) and Madilyne Roberts (David); his granddaughter, Jayda; his sisters, Angela Gleason-Pequeño (Bob) and Andrea Pequeño; his siblings, Raquel (Jay), Karole, Kris, and Tony Gleason (Amy); and his beloved aunt, Pam Smith (Bill). He is also survived by a large circle of family and friends who adore him and will deeply miss his loving presence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete DeAnda Sr. and Linda Sue Gleason, and his brother, Chris Gleason, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 19, 2025, at Family First Funeral & Cremation Services in Marcellus, Michigan, providing family and friends the opportunity to honor and remember a man whose spirit will forever echo in their hearts.

Rest well, dear Pete; your legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will carry on through those who loved you most.
