Niles

Patricia Ann Moyer, affectionately known as Patti, was born on May 2, 1953, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She departed this world on February 25, 2025, in Niles, Michigan, surrounded by the love of her family. Her life, spanning nearly 72 years, was a testament of compassion, love and unwavering support to those she held dear.

Patti’s profound influence began with her early education, graduating from College View Academy in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1971. She pursued her passion for teaching at Union College for two years before turning her sights towards a career in respiratory therapy. Her dedication saw her serving as a respiratory therapist at Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale, Illinois, where she devoted an inspiring 45 years of her life to the care of countless patients and families. Patti's professional journey was marked not only by her skill but most importantly her heart for Jesus and everyone she encountered.

In her personal life, Patti was not only a devoted wife but a loving mother and grandmother. She shared a deep bond with her husband, Thomas K. Moyer, whom she married on December 2, 1973, in her hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska. Together, they created a nurturing environment filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Patti was extremely proud of her family, which includes her three children, Zachary (Cristina) Moyer of Parker, Colorado, Heidi (Joshua) Leets of Niles, Michigan, and Heather (Steven) Hoffman of Bolingbrook, Illinois. She adored her seven grandchildren—Seth, Josiah, Autumn, Levi Leets, Eli, Jonah Hoffman, and Madeline Moyer—each held a special place in her heart, benefiting from her affection and unwavering support. She is also survived by her sister, Debbie Schultz.

Patti nurtured her spirit through her faith as a devout member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she enjoyed her congregation at Pioneer Memorial Church in Berrien Springs, and previously her Hinsdale Church family, alongside her adoring husband. She demonstrated an enduring commitment to her community and her church, living out her beliefs through acts of kindness and dedicated service. Beyond her career and familial roles, Patricia reveled in the simple joys of life—spending quality time with her friends and family, traveling to new destinations, and camping under the stars with Tom were among her favorite pastimes. Her warmth, boundless love, and affection will be remembered by all whose lives she touched. Patti now joins her parents, William and Arlene Schultz, in eternal rest. Her legacy of love and devotion will endure in the hearts of her family and friends, a guiding light that continues to inspire all who knew her. The world is undoubtedly a brighter place for having had Patricia Ann Moyer, a remarkable woman whose life was characterized by love, dedication, and profound kindness.

There is a memorial service being planned for early summer in Hinsdale, Illinois. Those desiring to make a memorial contribution in memory of Patti, may do so to the Tuition Assistance fund at Hinsdale Adventist Academy https://hinsdaleadventistacademy.factsmgtadmin.com/give/
