Pamela Johnson, lovingly known as a matriarch and cherished family figure, passed away on February 28, 2025, at Borgess Hospital. Born on September 5, 1942, in Highland Park, Illinois, Pam's life was characterized by her selfless nature and unwavering commitment to her family and friends. Known for her loving and giving spirit, she embodied the qualities of a caretaker whose laughter and humor left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Pam was often described as the "best mom and grandma ever!" Her legacy as a devoted mother to Mike, Michele (Kevin), and Mckim (Ron), and a proud grandmother to Ian, Kevin, Kristy, Kacy, Ronnie, Dakota, Skyler, and Alexa, will echo through the lives she touched. From the age of seven, her life was intertwined with Mike Riley, her lifelong partner. Though he passed before her, their shared history and love were the foundation of her life. Pam also embraced her role as a stepmother to Susi, David, Ursula, Michael, and James, her caring nature extended to her many grandchildren, including Nicole, Brittany, Anthony, Matthew, and Timothy. She took immense joy in nurturing her family, which proudly includes 19 great grandchildren.

Above all, Pam found joy in simple pleasures. She had an undeniable love for anything beach or California-related, with a particular fondness for dolphins and shells. Road trips were among her favorite adventures, allowing her to explore the world around her with unwavering enthusiasm. A true foodie at heart, she found happiness in dining out, savoring various culinary delights. Alongside these passions, Pam dedicated her life to the compassionate care of special needs adults, a testament to her giving and selfless nature.

Pam's loving spirit extended beyond her family; she was deeply involved in her community, always staying busy with activities that brought people together. Her heart for service was evident as she sold flowers for veterans and dedicated her time to volunteering. Those closest to her knew of her zest for life, as she never turned down an opportunity to bring joy and support to others.

We take comfort in the joyous reunion she is now experiencing in Heaven, surrounded by her beloved Mike, her son Mike, her parents, and her siblings. There, she is surely embraced by Betty, who nurtured her like a mother, and reunited with her dear lifelong friends, Joanne and Kathie. Their memories will remain as cherished parts of her story. As we bid farewell to Pam Johnson, we do so with heavy hearts, knowing that her warmth, humor, and boundless love will be missed by many. She leaves behind a legacy of family, laughter, and love that will endure forever in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
