Mitchell E. Smith

Mitchell E. Smith, a beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2025, in Kalamazoo, MI. Born on August 29, 1960, in Sturgis, MI, Mitchell was known for his generous heart, always eager to lend a hand. As a passionate giver, his last selfless act was as a donor through Gift of Life, a testament to his enduring desire to help others even in his passing.

Mitchell enjoyed many hobbies and was particularly fond of attending Colon Magic Week every year, an event that brought him great joy and camaraderie with fellow magic enthusiasts. He was also very knowledgeable when it came to music and bands and enjoyed listening to music. His warm spirit and kind nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving mother, Patricia Smith; his sister, Melody Sprowl; and his brother, Marvin Smith. Additionally, he cherished his role as an uncle to his nieces and nephews, Sarah Robinson, Douglas Sprowl, Benjamin Sprowl, and Ian Smith; great niece, Lily Robinson and great nephew Isaac Robinson.

Mitchell is preceded in death by his father, Howard Smith; his brother, Bradley Smith; and his great nephew, Max Robinson. His memory will forever be held dear by his family and friends, and he will be missed profoundly.
