A graduate of Allegan High School, Lewis dedicated his career to being a factory worker at General Motors. His unwavering spirit and diligent work ethic were evident in every task he undertook. Beyond his professional life, Lewis proudly served in the Marines, showcasing his commitment to both his country and community.

Lewis's personality was one of a kind; he was known for his caring nature and generosity towards everyone around him. A fiercely competitive man, he never hesitated to offer his hand to those in need, despite his independent streak that often saw him refraining from asking for help himself. Family and friends remember him fondly for this special blend of traits—an exceptional friend, a devoted family man who was always there to lend support.

In recent years, Lewis embraced the comfort of home. However, you could always count on him cheering on his grand-children at various sporting events, passionately standing by their side and celebrating their achievements. He took great pride in the little things, from washing his beloved vehicles to working diligently in the yard, embodying the essence of a nurturing home.

A true die-hard Michigan sports fan, Lewis's love for football and hockey was infectious, however the precious moments shared with his son, Tori, water-skiing and tubing at Gull Lake are fondly remembered. Their adventurous spirit was complemented by the joy of riding three-wheelers, creating memories that will forever resonate in their hearts.

Lewis is survived by his cherished son Tori Simpson and daughter-in-law Tammy Simpson, as well as his beloved grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Trenton, Madilyn, Logan, and great-grandchild Colton. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce McDaniel, brother Dutch Cooley, nephew Paul Cooley, along with other nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother, Mary, whose memory lives on through her family's shared stories and love for each other.

Lewis Wayne Simpson will be remembered for his endless generosity, his fierce loyalty, and the profound impact he had on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His gentle spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing his path.
