Laura Marie Slavings

Laura Marie Slavings, a beloved wife and devoted mother, passed away on February 24, 2025, in Marcellus, Michigan. Born on July 3, 1962, in Three Rivers, Michigan, Laura brought warmth and joy to the lives of all who knew her. Her spirit was that of a loving and caring homemaker, finding purpose in nurturing her family while cherishing her relationship with her Lord and Savior.

Laura’s heart was a sanctuary of love—she dedicated her life to creating a haven for her husband of 45 years, Jack Slavings, and their cherished children, Loretta Bogema and Jason Slavings. Her unwavering support and compassion made her an irreplaceable pillar in their lives, as she filled their home with laughter, kindness, and an abundance of love. Laura had an extraordinary ability to make every gathering special, creating memories that her family will hold close to their hearts forever.

Laura joins those she loved who have gone before her, including her father, Clayton Duane Hunsberger, her mother, Betty Kay Goff and her sister Diana Kay Warren. The love shared between them transcends time, and though she is now reunited with them, her legacy of love and devotion will continue to shine brightly through Jack, Loretta (Matthew), Jason (Brittany), her granddaughter Eleanor, her sister Angella, her stepmother Sue Hunsberger and stepbrother Aaron (Wendy).

In remembering Laura, we celebrate not just her life, but the countless moments she created for her family and friends. Her precious presence brought light into the lives of many, and her love will endure in their hearts. Laura Marie Slavings will be dearly missed, yet her spirit will forever remain a guiding force in the lives she touched.

A memorial service for Laura Marie Slavings is scheduled for Saturday, March 15th at 11:00 am at Apostolic Lighthouse in Dowagiac, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Apostolic Lighthouse in memory of Laura.
