Kathryn Elaine Chappell, a radiant soul with a heart of gold, left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone she touched. Her passing on February 27, 2025, has left a gaping hole in the hearts of her loved ones and community.
Born on August 13, 1955, Kathy was a devoted mother, a loyal friend, and a compassionate servant to those in need. Her love for her son, William Chappell, was her guiding force, and she dedicated her life to nurturing his growth, supporting his dreams, and showering him with unconditional love.
As a peer and recovery coach at Barry County Mental Health, Kathy poured her heart and soul into helping others find hope, healing and recovery. Her kindness, empathy and generosity knew no bounds, and her impact on the community will be felt for years to come. Kathy was also a passionate practitioner of Reiki, energy healing and acci detox. She believed in the power of holistic healing and dedicated her life to helping others find balance and harmony.
When she wasn't serving others, Kathy could often be found outdoors, basking in nature's beauty and serenity. She had a special affinity for animals, and her furry companions brought her immense joy. Her beloved cat, Stashy, held a special place in her heart and she cherished every moment spent with her loyal feline friend.
Kathy's love and light will be deeply missed by her family, including her son, William; her dear friend, Cristine, who brought joy, laughter and companionship to her life; and the countless lives she touched through her work. As we mourn the loss of this incredible woman, we take comfort in knowing that her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched. We will deeply miss her love, light and compassion, but we will continue to celebrate her life and legacy.
Rest in peace, Kathy. Your love, kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.
