We gather here today to honor and celebrate the life of Gregory Charles Lough, affectionately known as Greg. Born on March 1, 1968, Greg departed from us on March 13, 2025, at the age of 57, surrounded by his beloved family.
Greg was a man of many passions. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—casting a fishing line, getting his hands greasy while working on cars, and sharing hearty laughs with family and friends. His love for fishing was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his patience and appreciation for nature. Working on cars wasn't just a task for Greg; it was an art form, a testament to his problem-solving skills and dedication. He took great pride in passing down this knowledge, teaching his daughter and grandsons his knowledge of automotive work, ensuring that his skills and passion would live on through them. His sense of humor was infectious, always ready with a joke to lift spirits or a playful tease to keep things lively.
Family was the cornerstone of Greg's life. He cherished every moment spent with loved ones, never missing an opportunity to bring joy or, as he loved to do, stir up some good-natured mischief. His home was a sanctuary of laughter, warmth, and unwavering support.
Professionally, Greg dedicated many years to lawn care, embodying the values of hard work and commitment. However, it was his eight years of selfless service in the United States Army that stood as a testament to his courage and dedication to his country. His service is a legacy of honor that we hold in the highest regard.
Greg's memory will forever be etched in our hearts—whether it's through the melodies of karaoke nights, the friendly rivalries of pond wars, the warmth of bonfires, or those spontaneous visits that brightened our days. His stories, his laughter, and his love will continue to resonate in our lives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Clare Lough; his mother, Rosemary Lough (Poling); and his sisters, Melinda Sue Jacobs (Lough) and Carlo Fay Lough. Greg is survived by his wife, Stephanie Jean Lough; his daughters, Charlene Fay Rose Lough, Samantha Sue Jacobs, and Genevieve Kay Jacobs; his grandsons, Cy'Veair, Ky'Leone, Ky'Vion, and Cy'Air; his sister, Brenda Lee Lux (Lough) and her husband Leonard Blake Lux; and numerous nieces and nephews.
As we gather to celebrate Greg's life, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the love he shared so freely. His legacy is not just in the memories we hold but in the way we continue to live our lives with the same passion, humor, and love that he exemplified. Rest in peace, Greg. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
