Betty McCormick, a devoted matriarch and loving soul, passed peacefully at home on January 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering love that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched.
Born on June 29, 1961, Betty was the embodiment of compassion and nurturing. She was known for her affectionate hugs and her innate ability to make everyone around her feel cherished and valued. A true testament to her character, she approached life with an open heart, finding joy in the simplest moments and giving of herself selflessly to her family and friends. Her spirit of kindness and caring demeanor made her not only a remarkable mother but also a wonderful confidante and friend to many.
Betty's greatest pride came from her role as a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her beloved son, Josh Keith McCormick, and daughter-in-law, Sherri; along with her cherished son, Brandon McCormick, and daughter-in-law, Aurora. The light of her life, her grandchildren, included Christian Tinajero, Chad Maddox, Nicholas Maddox, Serenity Hope McCormick, and Braydon Gene McCormick. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, where they will always remain, their laughter and joy a reflection of her loving spirit.
In addition to her immediate family, Betty is remembered by her brother, Billy Gene Cox Jr., and her sister, Lila Sue Knight, who also shared in the bonds of love and memories built through their cherished times together.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Gene Cox Sr. and Wilda Ethel Carlson. Their nurturing ways undoubtedly shaped her generous heart and the loving mother she became, nurturing and supporting her family with the same care she received.
As we celebrate Betty's extraordinary life, we remember her as a beacon of love and compassion—a devoted mother and a friend who always had space for one more in her heart. She leaves behind a legacy that will be forever held in the richness of family ties and the unbreakable bonds of love. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will undoubtedly continue to shine brightly in the lives she touched.
