Barbara Jean Brundige, 92, of Three Rivers, MI and Zephyrhills, FL passed away on March 22, 2025. She was born on August 25, 1932, in her Aunt Nannie and Uncle Arthur’s farm home in Constantine, MI to parents LeRoy Nelson and Opal (Potter) Nelson. Barb had special childhood memories of time spent with her aunt, uncle, their children and foster children at their farm named Evergreen Farm. She attended Huss School and then later graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1950. Barb met her future spouse, Ken, at a roller-skating rink in 1952 and they were married on Valentine’s Day in 1953 in Three Rivers, MI. Their marriage lasted 69 years before Ken passed away in 2022 at 94 years old. Barb was retired from her jobs as a personnel secretary at Essex Wire and farmer’s wife. During her retirement years, you could find her by her husband’s side at local farmers’ markets selling Ken’s home-grown fruits and vegetables. Barb enjoyed sharing her recipes with customers, with her favorite being blueberry buckle. She had a passion for reading mysteries, sewing, and canning vegetables fresh from their garden. Barb served on the board of directors at KeyStone Place in Centreville, MI for several years. She had a special interest in helping homeless families after her own struggles growing up during the Depression years. Barb is survived by her three daughters Kristen (Rodney) Taft, Karen Brundige, Rebecca (Timothy) Mallett and four grandchildren Meredith Taft, Andrea Taft, Geoffrey Mallett and Sean Mallett.
